# Versum

> Versum is a free, read-only catalogue of real local businesses in the United States for AI agents and the people
> they work for: what each business sells and for how much, its opening hours, where it delivers or serves, and its
> own order and booking links and telephone. Every card is read from the business's own public website (and its
> public listings) and is a snapshot dated by when it was read. Nothing here takes money, places an order or books a
> time: an agent gets a price, a link and a telephone number, and the person acts on them.

## Connect an AI agent (MCP)

- Tools: `find_business` (a business the user named), `list_niches` → `list_cards` (a known trade near a place),
  `search_catalog` (by meaning), `get_card` (one business in full), `get_offering`, `quote_order` (a delivery
  quote asked of the shop's own cart — nothing is ordered), `request_to_owner` / `request_status` (only for
  businesses whose owner connected a channel).

## What the data is

- A snapshot: every card carries the date it was read (`collected_at` in the tools; «Collected from public sources ·
  date» and `dateModified` in the JSON-LD of each page). Prices and hours can have changed since — quote them as
  «their website says», and let the person confirm with the business.
- Unknown stays unknown: a price, hour or delivery area the business did not publish is absent, never guessed.
- Owners can verify and correct their page; a verified page says so. Most businesses have not been asked yet.
- Every link handed out carries `ref=versum` so a business can see who sent the customer.
